We offer acting classes for all ages and experience levels in a class environment that is heartfelt, supportive and fun, whilst also challenging students to connect with their truest self behind the mask, facilitating their best work. There are weekly classes (one or two per week), which can be joined at any time of year, as well as holiday programs and casting workshops throughout the year. Additionally, private coaching is available with Australia’s most educated acting coach.
What will you learn?
The classes are led by Australia’s most widely educated acting coach, VCA graduate Aaron Walton. Students will develop confidence, creativity and performance skills by engaging in curated exercises from various disciplines (eg. VCA, Stanislavski, Chekhov, Alexander, Meisner, Laban) that train you to be truly present in the moment, to work impulsively, to develop a strong composing capacity, to be playful and alive, and to engage in active listening.
You’ll learn script analysis – a fundamental skill every actor needs. Each week you analyse and perform a new scene. Through script analysis you will explore what’s happening in the scene, what led up to this moment and what the characters are trying to achieve.
You’ll develop skills in on-camera performance. You will learn how to deliver convincing dialogue and performances while matching your moves to different camera positions and frames.
You learn quickly by harnessing the power of immediate feedback. As you review our scene and get feedback from your teacher you can see straight away what’s working in your performance and what aspects of the technique you need to develop.
