Our Mission

At Evolution, we are extremely passionate about nurturing the growth of students of all ages (7+) and experience levels in a supportive environment where they are free to explore their individual creative voice. We believe that an acting class is perhaps the most exciting and fertile place for creative and personal growth, and that the two reciprocally inform one another. We insist that the exploration of the human condition through acting is a deeply rewarding process on many dimensions. Plus it’s lots of fun!

Aaron Walton – Director & Teacher

Aaron is Australia’s most educated acting teacher. The breadth of his experience and education brings a uniquely articulate and grounded approach to acting, supported not only by prestigious actor training, but also a scientific understanding of the human condition.

When he was part way through a Master’s of Financial Management at The University of Melbourne, Aaron was accepted into the prestigious VCA Acting course, where he was the recipient of the Beleura John Tallis Award for Excellence in Acting. His theatre credits include The Merchant of Venice, playing the eponymous lead Antonio (Dir. Richard Murphet); Big Sky Town at the Arts Centre, Melbourne (Dir. Naomi Edwards); Dead & Deader at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival; and the Green Room Award Nominated, Therese Raquin, where he received rave reviews like, “some of the most beautiful, intense acting I have seen” (Melbourne. Arts. Fashion). His many screen roles include Channel 7’s Winners & Losers, many films that have enjoyed festival success here and abroad, including Heart Station and Alter, and playing the lead antagonist of Watch The Sunset, which was named Australia’s 5th best feature film of 2017 by Cinema Australia. He has been teaching acting since 2010.

In Aaron’s classes you will grow immensely as an actor and as a person, as you find the strength to remove the mask and work from a profoundly truthful place. He has a wealth of joyous experience working with kids and loves their openness and playfulness. Aaron is also a registered psychologist. This gives him unique insight into the acting process, which he has used to develop his own methods for bringing out the actor’s best work.
